Anyone know if toyota is going to be selling one for the 2016 at some point? The dealer thought the 2015 TRD Exhaust may be compatible.

I was hoping it would have been a factory option, but nothing more than an exhaust tip.

The 2015 TRD exhaust definitely won't fit. The 4-cylinder is the same, but the V6 has a different exhaust design and where the muffler/tailpipe connects to the midpipe is a different style with a different type of gasket and bolts. Still, you could probably get a 2015 and have a shop change the flange to the 2016 one and use it if you really wanted to.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but why do people still pay $350+ for exhaust systems? Your local exhaust shop can weld in a full cat back with custom piping and a muffler of your choice for around $150.

Maybe not for $150, but nothing a little high temp paint and primer can't protect.

You'll need to paint the inside, too

I dunno maybe I have just gotten lucky, but I've never had an exhaust rust out. I did have a exhaust hanger rot away however.

Our muffler shops won't even weld a muffler you bring in for much less than $150.

I have a neighbor that builds Class4 buggies who will do any weld work for the cost of the sticks or reel wire and a 6 pack of expensive beer from the liquor store down the street. I also have a family friend who will do micro welding with scrap sticks if I drive whatever I need all the way to him. You have to know people.
