I don't run trails I was just explaining why I thought the OR fenders are unpainted. The thing is i would love at least the rear locker in a 2WD but those unpainted flares look like ass, Which is why I asked about the paint costs.

I don't need a 4WD. I would get it if the price was right but I can live with a 2WD Sport like I have but with the P&T package or the 2WD LTD for about $900 more. The more I think about it, the less I need a 4WD and the associated additional insurance and maintenance costs. I don't need bragging rights. Plus I understand a 2WD is better for towing.

If I were going to go 4WD the OR would be the best value as it has the most OR goodies.

My dealer w/out a blink offered me $500 over the invoice that shows in their system. I don't know exact on this config of 38644, but should be around 36500 ish.

My config was that plus tonneau for 39100 and getting for 37122

Did you straight up just ask your dealer for invoice? This is the quote I received from the internet sales gal at one of the dealers by me.

tell them you'll pay $500 over invoice, or find a dealer that will. I've seen others here getting for 750 over as well. Its generally not top secret information. Honestly, I think they use it as a sales tactic. I'm guessing they make more than $500 for selling a 37000 product. There is also dealer holdback, usually 2% of the price. They have that to play with, plus monthly incentives given by toyota for volume.

If you don't ask you don't receive.

The dealer has not replied to my request yet for a revised quote. I am going to start calling other dealerships and letting them know I want $500 over invoice for a 2016. I'll post back with updates.

If people would just be patience and let these trucks sit on the dealers lots till early spring time 2016, I bet the dealers would drop the price about 2000.00 or maybe more. Dealers are capitalizing on peoples's eagerness to be the first one's to purchase the new Tacoma. Kind of sad to me.

Why is it sad? Nobody is forcing anyone to do anything.

Yeah. If someone wanted to pay $50k for a new Tacoma, its their prerogative to do so. If others don't want to pay over $30k, its also their prerogative. It's called capitalism, free market. And it will balance out

Nobody said anything about not being patient and letting the price come down on these trucks. Factors such as depreciation of trade in value and current/future financial situations come into play. For me personally, this would be a better time for me to get a new vehicle than the spring, just my $.02.

Hence I have the money to do so now and do not know if I will come spring or whenever they do decide to discount them, if they even do.

Yep, same boat. It's a good time for me to make the switch too. When I bought my 2014, I got a deal, but it was only about 2K and that was after a LOT of negotiations and playing dealers against each other. Considering the value these trucks retain even a year after purchase (in my case, 14 months) paying MSRP vs. Discounted is almost negligible. True, we are paying more for the 2016's and true it might be a bit more of a gamble because they are pushing themselves out of "every man's" market, but I'm confident they are still a solid investment in terms of a vehicle. Take a look at what a used Colorado goes for...my guess is you lose 20% just driving it off the lot.

Thanks! I have until Wednesday to decide whether or not to add the premium and tech package along with JBL. I'm still a little torn as all I really want is the JBL stereo and the color keyed rear bumper; the rest of the stuff I couldn't care less about and I actually prefer not to have a moonroof.

Does anyone have any idea how the stock TRD stereo compares to the JBL upgrade? I've never owned a Tacoma, but I am used to a good stereo in other vehicles.

It looks like they have a typo. It says Tundra on the truck description.

Anyone who gets an invoice cost for their particular model should PM user NoDak so he can update his cost and options thread.
