It works perfectly fine on the side of an Idaho mountain and you're only halfway thru the butchering of a bull elk. It's sleeting, dark and you have multiple pack trips out to get the dead thing to the truck.

And the knife is a $14 mora. Works perfectly fine. I got home, layed the bevel down flat on a waterstone and touched it up.

A micro bevel on a Scandi isn't the end of the world. Heck, I'm using a woodcutting bevel on meat. I micro bevel kinda helps.

But yea, it's the wrong grind for the accusharp. True that.

    Hey!!! You changed names!!!

I did. I'm looking for a used MP. I want the kephart. I'll find one. And you are NOT helping by throwing out names of great knife makers. Not at all!!:)

Interesting thing about a Scandi. Helle to be exact. They actually recommend their sharpener for their knives. It just like the accusharp. Coarser. It feels unnatural how it grinds so aggressive. I don't use it.

Yea. I'm there. That "randy" guy beat me to a MP kephart that sold for $170. That one hurt to miss.

Btw everyone. REI is selling CASE knives for $17 plus change. Cheap!!!

I have a yellow hunter on the way. It was my first knife. First cut , and first lost knife. (I think my mom took it in my sleep when I cut myself. I was 9)

Last time I went to Disneyland, the ticket lady at the front gate called a "117k" or something cryptic like that on me. I'm guessing she saw the pocket clip. They escorted me out and told me to either toss it or return it to my hotel room. Since I was dropped off, I was forced to toss it. Upset by my rookie mistake, I ordered another one from Amazon while riding the train to New Orleans Square. Take that Disney! This is why I own a cheapo pocket knife.

Just a bunch of old crap
That's odd... my Helle came with different instructions that didn't make mention of their own sharpener. It just mentioned how to get the angle correct, the sharpening motions, and recommended types of stones.

Another client's knife I sharpened tonight on the edge pro. Turns out its a legitimate GI jet pilot survival knife. I think it was as tough if not tougher to put an edge on than my 30 year old Cold Steel knives. I'm amazed it turned out so well.

Last pic shows the mirror edge if you zoom in on it
