I do most of my driving on the highway to and from work. I have a 2015 doublecab 4X4 SR5. I was driving down the road the other day with my driver's window down, listening to the radio. I couldn't hear the song well because of all of the air blowing in the window, so I closed my driver's side window and opened the rear, driver's side window. I could not believe the vibration that I get when I do that. The steering wheel started shaking like crazy and there was a loud noise as well. As soon as I close the rear window, it goes away. Anyone else with this problem?

Wind in, wind out. Don't know about steering shaking.

This must be your first vehicle huh?

All 4 doors do that at high speeds when you have the rear windows down until you raise them back up. Couldn't tell you why, but that is fairly universally known.

It has to do with Acoustics/oscillations and the mechanics that pertain to the circumstance. I remember when in my college physics I had questions like at what speed with the windows down do you start to hear a high pitched sound in your car. So when you feel there is a loud noise because you have one of the windows down, it means as the air comes I and out at high speeds in an incoherent manner which would otherwise provide pleasant sounds, it vibrates in an oscillating manner making a horrible sometimes scary sound. As for the vibrations, I don't know, but the suction from the air coming I and out of the windows could create a setting where it feels there is suction from the side of the vehicle at a given rate, thereby giving you a sense and actual vibration due of a non-aerodynamic surface. Again, physics. The situation can be replicated with any car for the most part.

Not my first vehicle, Mr. Comedian. I don't think that I have ever had to roll up my driver's window to hear the radio in any of my previous vehicles. This radio is pathetic. I was trying to cut down on the noise and it was significantly magnified, plus the vibration. All I was asking was if anyone else's doublecab does this.

    Lol

But on a serious note I believe mine does it also. They are just flimsy trucks (speaking body wise) so a lot of weird audible noises and such are present on them.

I can't say I know what you mean in regards to the radio, as I have the JBL unit, but the stock basic ones are pathetic just from what I have heard when I was in front of one.
