A lot of those sound systems they put in are still very good. I don't have experience with Tacoma personally, since this will be my first truck and toyota, but my Civic Si has a 7 speaker premium system that sounds pretty good. I can turn it all the way up and it isn't going to shake my entire car, but it will be really loud and the sub gets pretty bumpin. That being said, I had an aftermarket system in my first car and that one blew away my current car but that was meant to be heard going down the road from innocent bystanders haha. I did not put that in myself, it just came with the car.

I ordered the truck without the JBLs because in my opinion if I really don't like them, I can swap them out myself for wayyyyy less that 3K.

Exactly why I am buying one. Good investment. I blue booked a 5 year old Tacoma vs a 5 year old Colorado. 8k difference. Besides look at this gem I saw on the road the other day! They last forever!

Just quoted $40,393 (MSRP) for a Limited with Tow Package, Bed Step, Black Tube Steps, All weather Mats, Spare Tire Lock.

Also got him to throw in a $275 unlimited mileage/year powertrain warranty and the mud guards ($140) for the MSRP price.

Total with Tax, Delivery, etc was $42, 781.93

That's a lot to pay for that truck, but in the end, you the buyer ultimately decide if it's worth it. Various Toyota dealerships around here offer the unlimited power train warranty for free. Typically the warranty is not a Toyota warranty...more so a third party. I think you can get around invoice if you push hard enough...you just need to let them know that you don't need the truck now and willing to wait. Bluff or not...they want your business.

I saw a Chevy traverse the other day and the air dam under the bumper was in terrible shape, dented, and ripped up and barely hanging on. I almost took a picture but decided that would be too rude. That's exactly what's gonna happen in the Colorado

I'm hitting two other dealerships in the next two days to get counter offers and see if they can better it. If so, ill take that to this guy and ask him to match it.

That's a grand plan. It may be worth mentioning some of the deals on the forum. I'm pretty sure the dealerships have plenty of incentives on top of the invoice and 2 percent holdback, so don't let them make it seem as if the truck is tough to get. In the end, there will be plenty of tacos for everyone.

Ordered a dclb trd or, with premium tech JBL and towing for invoice. It wasn't easy, had to shop 5 dealers. 3 out of the 5 wouldn't budge from msrp, claiming high resale and demand, blah blah...if you have the time and the patience, I think invoice is achievable. It may depend on your area though.

How is the JBL coded on your spec sheet? Is it "Premium & Technology Package" or "Premium & Technology Package plus JBL"? Mine says "Entune Premium Audio: All Content" then later it says "Premium & Technology Package"

I may be getting confused here: getting the truck for "invoice" is what difference over MSRP?

Invoice is what the dealer paid for it. MSRP is what Toyota recommends the sale price to be (aka retail). Big difference thousands of dollars.

Everything has a dealer cost and an msrp price. Tech package, tonneu cover, floor mats, everything.

    Stock and loving it
They cannot buy the truck from Toyota for the invoice price. If they did pay that invoice price and sold it to you for invoice and then the rest for MSRP for the rest of the month, they would be out of business. These invoice prices might be what a dealer pays that sells 1 Toyota a month. Every time you sell enough to make a tier, you pay less for each car.

Do the math and try to make a profit even after hold back on that invoice to MSRP difference

If I were in the market for a 2016 Tacoma I think I'd hold off for a couple of months and let the hype die down. I just can't see paying $35-$40k for any Tacoma.

I probably would too, but a few months, or years down the line I'd still be paying what I'm paying now so I may as well get one as soon as they come out so I can enjoy it longer

I guess I did the same thing when Ford released the 2013 SHO with a performance package...I had to have it right away so I paid a little more than I wanted to. Sometimes you just have to pay to play I guess. (-:

Crap that is the best deal I have seen I don't know how your base price is so low. I shopped around and could come even close to that.
