You WANTED BareBones - You Got it

According to Toyota's build site you can choose 3 basic trim levels for 2015 Model year: SR, Convenience Package, Convenience Package with SR options.

 

2016 will offer 5 trim options.

TRD Off-road
Limited

I for one am happy about this. Toyota is somewhat going back to the days of the pre-tacoma "pickup" where you had multiple choices for different tasks and uses.

If you were that frugal you wouldn't care because you'd be buying used anyway....

 

I'm actually pretty excited to see what the SR and SR-5 packages have to offer. "Bare bones" option would be great for me.

Poverty Model is a long standing euphemism for the base model

 

I thought the poverty model had the baby wheels? There are no more baby wheels offered

 

Eh, I still want cruise control on any "bare bones" truck.

When I bought my 2000, I was astonished at how much of an 'economy' truck it was. It doesn't even have a trip odometer.

 

No more 5 lugs...... so 4 banger (former) prerunner is the new bottom rung

For a truck, I mostly prefer to run poverty spec baller parts. The coolest parts that came on utility-based models from other countries. My Land Cruiser is seriously moving in that direction.
