    Has anyone tackled a parking brake replacement on an 04' 4x4 Tacoma? I'm even having trouble finding the replacement parts. Any info is appreciated.

    I basically need to replace all the external hardware...everything is rusted and each time I use the brake it sticks on. As a result, I have to lube the hell out of it and smack the shoes loose with a hammer. Plus the light stays on which drives me nuts.

    Replace both bell crank assemblies with this kit which is $30 on Amazon; it's not worth trying to reuse the old rusted hardware.

    Use a quality brake grease on all contact surfaces but don't over-do it since when the brakes heat up it can melt onto the shoes and affect braking.

    Also I'd suggest replacing both
    $26 Raybestos R-Line Automotive Replacement Rear Right Drum Brake Self Adjuster Repair Kit for Select Toyota (H12549)
    adjustment assemblies (not the exact part for your truck) as they tend to be seized as well if the parking brake hasn't been fully functional for a while.

    Lastly, wire-brush and grease all pivoting points along the parking brake line to make sure that wont be causing any hang up for your new hardware.

    Can anyone confirm the part number for the front parking brake cable for a manual transmission, 4x4, Xtra cab? Via Lakeland, Sunnyside and some other parts sites, I get 46103D010.

    Confusion is mostly over whether or not this is correct for the manual trans. Thanks!
