Chevy and gmc raised the price game
I have seem some gmc canyons for 40000+. Toyota followed suit. But, you are more likely to get a much lower price off msrp on the twins. That will make up for all the shop time.

Look, brother, is it reasonable to have a conversation with the uneducated? No. Here is an image as it's the fastest way I can put 1000 words down. These trucks haven't even come out yet and people are already getting substantial discounts on top tier models. To assume GM is the only place you will find discounts is Asinine and frankly assuming that the vehicle sales operate in a vaccuum.

That was me being a dick and I will apologize now for it. Back to civil conversation.
Anyone can get these discounts and the potential savings will be even greater on the highly optioned limited.

So, with pricing being equal, we're forced to quantify reliability. Once you translate that into a dollar figure and deduct that from the price. That will give you the true cost of the vehicle. I tend to find that quality a high value 7-10k in my opinion but each person can apply their own valuation.

Thanks ! I think once the smoke clears in the next two weeks all of us early adopters will have a better idea of how screwed we are or not on pricing. At this point both my wife and oldest daughter are pushing for the 16 build so worst case I just have to shop the dealers . There is one every 10 miles in every direction so it's just a matter of pounding the pavement to find someone who likes money and doesn't want to fck my tender ass.

Call me crazy but i would just opt for the TRD Sport or OR Automatic with no package and call it a day . I don't need a moonroof , have one on my lexus IS and never use it, heated seats ( in Miami no thank you ) , Blind spot monitor ( what the hell for?) been driving without that for many years, dual climate control ? ahhh no point on that . Reality is that you can get the base TRD model nicely equipped without all that nonsense . Pay the $33730 + Destination and tax and that's it and even at that point i would not even consider paying MSRP.

I'm not going to end up paying $38,800 because as it stands that number doesnt even tie out and the little fcker internet manager at the dealership hasn't even bothered to send me a full build sheet despite sitting on my $1,500 deposit for 3 weeks. Have not gotten an email response from my last request which was asking for an itemized/official build sheet. I have an initialized print out from their inventory system which does not provide line item pricing. He claims I'm getting under invoice. Wife and kids want a Taco. I'm on the fence. Have XPlan at work. Don't like the GM. Would actually be just as happy w a fully loaded outback with a basket on top for Bambi and his mom. Sadly I do actually have enough cash that I wouldn't even notice 38K but I'm cheap.

All I want is a TRD OR DC SB auto with HEATED MIRRORS! I have not doubt they're probably part of a ridiculous $3000 package though and I'll end up in the same boat I was before and that's checking out 3rd parties that will install aftermarket heated mirrors.

All I would need is the TRD OR package + tow package. I always buy rubber floormats anyway.

You'd stand on your new heated seats to shoot a deer through the moonroof? That's worth 2300 bucks, definitely!

There is a thread in the 2nd gen forum that give instructions on how to do it. When I installed mine it took about a day of time and a few cuss words. Work perfectly fine.

My tuck is supposed to be built today. I still have not gotten an actual build sheet with line item/detailed pricing of options and my total. I just sent this to the "internet manager" who told me what a great under invoice deal i was getting. I haven't gotten a response yet. Called two of the other area dealers and nobody is talking about 2016s yet. I might just have to bail on this one out of principal just because the dude is either lying or doesn't even know what the pricing is. $400 under invoice should be $30849 and no way would that add up to $38,000.

I don't mind paying somewhere in the middle between raw invoice and full on assrape because so far they have at least put up with my daily nagging and haven't told me to fck off.

OK, My deal is below. I've calculated the invoice base price here and used the invoice prices of the options from the other thread with options/base model invoice vs MSRP thread. I took the MSRP's right from the build sheet. My dealer "invoice" price for this vehicle is 37,372 so I just made the spreadsheet do the math to get the invoice price for the DCLB OR 4x4 base. Looks like my base 'invoice' discount for DCLBOR is ~2% higher than the DCSB Sport and DCSB OR discounts listed in that thread, or about $657 higher to me. i.e. I am at 5.09% discount and they are showing more like 7% discount. So far I feel that my dealer has been honest but will be interested to see how it shakes out vs other reported invoice discounts on the DCLB OR.

I highlighted the CT and R6 options because look at the margin on those! Way better than what I would call 'core' option packages like HH/FP/TO.

I can't even get that level of detail from my dealer. I just have the total number. I'm killing the deal if the fck doesn't have me a vin and and detailed pricing by Friday. It doesn't make sense to have $1,500 sitting there with someone who can't figure out how to provide very basic pricing information and is reflective of the dealer not giving a shit overall.

Take the data in the other thread, put together an estimated invoice price, send it to him and say he needs to explain himself. But do that after calling 2 or 4 other places. If you don't need this truck right away you can get one of those other dealers to play ball and use it to beat him over the head and neck. No reason to over pay even if it is early and no reason to give your $ to a non responsive dick head. Call the internt person at each of the other dealers. have the info in hand and tell them you are shopping it. No one here needs to pay MSRP - just negotiate - you don't need to be an ass to negotiate just tell them what you want and tell them you are dialing for the best price. Negotiate from invoice less holdback to upward not MSRP downward. Watch your hard earned $ stay in your pocket.

Think about it this way. Saving $2400 cost me about 5 or 6 hours on the phone to 3 dealers in Denver's internet or fleet people. At 6 hours that is .... $400/hour. Easy money.

you know that Scene in the "new" A-Team where Hannibal is in prison. the FBI agent hands him a blurry photo and Hannibal shows him the same photo but high quality and says " Give me a minute i am great, give me six months and i am unstoppable". Thats how i feel at the dealership right now when they say they have no pricing or info or anything on the new taco. I show them a PDF of the brochure and print outs of the msrp and invoice price list.
