Its all good guys, as stated; looks are subjective and i know the taco from all previous gens has been the top selling midsize so obviously it has appeal. Hell, i nearly bought one back in 08, but opted for a titan pro4x instead.

I take no offense to anyones posts here, but i do appreciate the support from those who felt my post was being attacked.

I believe somewhere they said they did. Maybe a bit easier to clear 33/35s only issue I bet will still be the cab mount.

Opinions are fine. Some folks can't help themselves with the non sequiturs.

I agree. It looks really bad on old dodge extended cabs and some fords. I really hate the design personally. It makes the cab look super long and quite frankly awkward... I can imagine if they offered a cap from the factory and made that a black strip too off the back of the bed. It would look like a big limo with that type of a setup.

We have been able to look at the gen 3 (at least in pics and videos) for about 8 months now. It is starting to look normal to me now. I am have grown to like the styling. I am sure most will feel the same when we see them on the road everyday.

The blackout just brings the Tacoma in line with the 4Runner. It already has that blackout (and has since 2010 at least). The fender flares of the new Tacoma are also in line with the current 4Runner. I think that is what makes the gen 2 look so dated despite still being a handsome truck. The 4Runner beside it on the dealer lot looks more modern with the slimmer fender flares and blockier, bold styling versus the swoopy, flowing character lines of the Tacoma (on the bedside), for example.

The higher the circumference, the more surface area the tire goes through per revolution. Thus the more energy it takes per revolution

Ohh... Well that's because air flowing can get caught in the wells and cause drag.

OME, sliders, dents, hail damage, soiled armrest. Lightbulbs.
While that could be true, we should note that due to various aero optimizations and improvements, the coefficient of drag significantly improved from the 2015 to the 2016.

    Example cd:
    2015 All cabs/models sans 4x2 AC - 0.394 (or 0.419 w/OR pckg)
    2016 4x4 - 0.389 (AC) or 0.386 (Dcab)

So even with the new wheel wells...for the 4x4 Dcab Off Road, that's an 8% IMPROVEMENT in aero overall.
