Nope... Seems like engineering jobs are too competitive so there is no need for a company to offer a signing bonus...

I'm afraid so... Dumped 4 qts of oil in and it's a little over the full line, but it won't start... It wants to start, but just doesn't...

Konsta said it sounds like it has no compression so the valves are probably damaged and from there there is no guarantee that the rods and cylinder walls aren't toast either...

:( that stinks. Boyd still has a spare engine! His truck's dead dead now but I don't think he ever unpacked the new engine

That would be some expensive shipping. haha What did he do to it to make it dead dead?!

I figure this would be a great time to do an LS swap (For what I do, I don't think the 1GR will ever produce enough reliable power...), but being unemployed-ish and such, kind of makes that hard to do...

He just kept running it with the bad cylinder until it just up and quit one day earlier this summer.

Guess this means no camping for the rest of the summer too huh?

But he has a new engine to swap in? Wouldn't that fix the bad cylinder problem? haha

Yep... I could still take my car tent camping, but it's getting a bit too cold for that.

:goingcrazy:I just spent almost 4 hours filling out paperwork for my new job... and I'm pretty sure there is still more to do before I start.

At least Boyd's Subaru has AWD. My little car is just front wheel drive. haha

So I'm leaving work and I notice there's a big, dark streak in the middle of the road - like from diesel or oil. Then I notice big chunks of a tire - side walls and tread intact. Then there was a large pile of horse poop at the end....possible scenarios that could have played out?

doesn't sound like something I want to guess about :notsure:

Getting my eyes checked tomorrow... had an appt later in the month, but being on baby watch, didn't want to take a chance I'd miss my appt. Was going to work on the car - change plugs, wires, vavle cover gasket and do the 60 k maint on the Truck, but.... supposed to rain this weekend... 40% chance Sat, 30% chance Sun, and 20% mon. Will see how the weather goes and might be able to get some of it done.

What about you? Going camping? or should I say where?

Runner needs his 60k too....just don't have time!

Yeah, I'm heading out. One forecast says 70% rain/snow tomorrow another says 20% rain....I like the 20% better but who knows what will happen. I'll probably head up near here...

No idea...just an interesting trail of evidence...

Mom texted me earlier and said it was snowing in the mountains where they're camped. At least it will help the folks fighting hte fires right now!

    what? why?
