2004 Tacoma Rear bumper is rusted out and want to replace. Do not want to buy a poor quality aftermarket bumper that will rust quickly. I know the OEM bumpers are good and expensive approx $600 from Toyota. However, currently only 1 chrome available in USA with 9 people backordered. Bottom-line not going to come in if ordered. I live in Richmond, VA and have checked salvage yards, no luck.

Saw a 1st Gen in a front end wreck pretty bad damage a few nights ago. Not the right time to ask for their rear-bumper!

Anyone out there with a good OEM 1st Gen bumper for sale or have experience with an aftermarket chrome bumper that is OEM quality. Thought about going all black but decided not to.

Wow price certainly has gone up. Thanks for the confirmation on part number. Best price I have found for OEM Toyota bumper is 436 + 40 for shipping. This is the only scar on the truck. Tough call between buying a clean used bumper and going new for nearly $500. New will likely stay rest free much longer. Only area that rusts is tow hitch area, everything else is shiny and new.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I think the OEM ones are garbage, they are made of cheap metal that rusts fast. My rear one is rusted out too and I just noticed my front starting to crack from rust as well. Think you'd be better off finding a quality aftermarket set made of real metal, at least that's what I am going to do when it comes time to replace them.

Jon, Good point. I have been looking at all OEM and OEM replacement bumpers. Want to keep it stock and chrome is the problem. So far after much looking I have not been able to find any reviews or data saying one aftermarket is better than OEM. Prices for aftermarket chrome rear bumpers range from $160 to $700. Problem is you just do not know what you are going to get. You have any idea who make a solid aftermarket bumper that looks stock? Thanks

I replaced mine which had rusted out on back in 2013 with an aftermarket one from Amazon for $232. Came with new bolts/brackets/rubber. I am in the northeast and have been through 2 snow packed winters with lots of road salt and it still looks like new. Back when I bought it there were maybe two reviews on it but I see now its very well reviewed. I would purchase it again without any reservation. Need to find a new front one as that one is looking pretty bad.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002MYG8L2?

Looks like one of the other sellers has it for $185 plus $33 shipping. Even better than what I paid. Any just passing my own experience along.

I'll let you have it for $40 (complete, including mounting brackets).
It should fit any 1996-2004 Tacoma as far as I know. What do you have?

Next time your are passing thru the Sacramento area, send me a PM (or 'start a conversation' ?).

Nice looking truck! Thanks for the offer but I am sticking with chrome for now. Unrelated question I am about to tint my front windows to match the factory tint on rear. I was thinking 20%, yours look great what percent are they? Thanks again

In these pics I believe I had 20% on front but I have 1% on back. I put 1% on fronts too but then got a ticket so my fronts are at 18%now

That would be great. I'll try to stop by in the coming months - maybe during a Tahoe trip. I have a 2004 Tacoma so it should be fine unless there's a reason you think it wouldn't work.

I hate chrome. that's why i bought a used bumper in charlotte from some guy while on a trip. color is BSP :)

on a side note you could always get AM and then put a coating on the inside where it usually rusts (below license plate). a can of undercoating is less than $300 :D

About $275 shipped. Good info, thanks. Mine has a dent in it and some rust spots showing through the outside chrome ... I was under the truck yesterday and saw all the rust on the backside of the bumper. YIKES.
