Cool time lapse. Is this for the proposed ramp expansion? I thought they wrapped up the runway realignment/resurface at the end of last summer.

 

Previous contractor couldn't handle the rock we're blasting through this year... High country is in it this summer. The runway is getting the final 1k feet added to the west end.

So i just got back from a recording session with the company and engineer that does the symphony. This was not that. In the new studio space he just moved to it was for an Anime TV Theme song and holy fuck. It was awesome.

 

It's only terrifying when they accept, and you realize that you have a payment for the next 15-30 years.

 

Ha! You got me there. Buying a house is a great experience, I set my closing date about a month and a half after they accepted my offer, made it alot easier in dealing with all the hoops you have to jump through with the mortgage company.

 

So i ordered a timing chain kit for my 4runner. I also ordered a Pro Torquer Camshaft from LCE cause i could feel the wear by hand on the original cam. If this engine is still junk i may just throw that new cam in my 87 P/U.

 

Is there anyone in Cheyenne that might want to take a look at that Tacoma with me? With relatively high mileage Id feel more comfortable if someone who knew what to look for was there.

 

Buying a house is nothing but compromises. I would not be surprised if there weren't other compromises yet to be mentioned.

Sounds like a nice place Ben. I hope you don't get too much competition for it. Watch out for those escalation arrangements the RE agents like to employ.

I wasn't necessarily referring to your agent. Recall, the seller has their agent as well.

The scenario is, there is another offer on the table. Now there is a 3rd agent involved. Are you willing to escalate your offer to a point higher than the other offer. If you do that and then they raise theirs again, are you willing to raise yours a second or third or fouth time, etc.

Your RE agent will offer an automatic escalation agreement with limits, say $10K max, with automatic counter offers. The alternative is to give up on that property if there is a second offer on the table.

 

An example of a compromise. Being homeless is preferable to a bidding war. Just sayin

 

Did you already get pre-approved for a mortage?

My wife and I are working on that right now and are going to look at some houses in the area next week

Mike is right about the compromise part... It has been pretty hard for us to find places that fit. Our biggest obstacle is that we want it to be outside of the city with few neighbors. Ideally on a few acres so we can have a dirt bike course, shop or just some land to separate us from the neighbors. haha

 

I definitely want to do Whipsaw again. But it is not something one just casually does. This fall, before the snow comes again is too soon.

We found there is so much to do in BC. And now we have some friends there. Next time will have to involve them somehow.

 

Yep. And go further north. If you look at a map we went like..1/16th up into BC..

and then continue up to Alaska.

 

But doesn't that make you wonder if they would have accepted 1k less.... maybe 10k?... who knows? Not you. That's for sure.

Yeah... It's a sellers market right now, not a buyers... Most houses around here are asking $20K-$40K more than they are worth and they seem to be getting it...

 

Yes and no... These houses are not being valued at that by appraisers... Probably because everyone is waiting for the market to possibly pop again like it did in 2008... Interest rates are expected to increase sometime in the next year to level the market back out and that will likely bring the asking prices back down to the appraised values; but it's a big guessing game at this point.
