Most of my off roading experience has not included serious rocks. I do want sliders to expand my horizons and minimize damage and am looking. As I'm deciding on which sliders, I'm curious on your experiences on the functional advantage of the kickout. Some like the look / others don't but on the trail - what is the real difference? Thoughts?

Kick out means what it says, pushes you away from trees, larger rocks, etc. Saved me a few times from some good damage

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I like it because it's helped me make corners on narrow trails where there's a tree and I can use it to swing around.

Also it awesome for washing the truck, and loading up a kayak.

Hangs you up on rocks/trees so you can turn around before the trail gets too tough. ;) :p

I have sliders w/o the kickout, and they are just as functional. I havent actually been in a situation where I felt the kickout would have had an added benefit over not having them. I went for a set of sliders w/o the kickout as I like the look better. I have used them to piviot around rocks/trees ect, every case mentioned above and experienced no difference than those who I was with that had em on their sliders

I've used mine to pivot on rocks, they've pushed me off some as well and yes they're handy for getting into the bed. Comes down to personal preference. My kickouts have also destroyed a nissan altima so there's that

I have not completely decided, yet. I've looked at most of the vendors on TW and some others. Based on the comments and just my own thinking, I will probably get the KO. Brand-wise, I live just outside of DC and can pretty easily get to Mobtown to save on shipping. A big plus on their product is the bolt-on feature, which I prefer being the truck is only a few months old and I'd like to avoid drilling or welding the frame too much for now. Downside is they don't plate them anymore like the one on their website. So, i'm going to scrub the area once more, look for anyone with a solid, similar product where the shipping is not killer - but most likely will order Mobtown sliders with kick-outs. I do like the idea of crushing an Altima - in a completely socially acceptable way of course. ha.

Then I guess I'll need to start looking at skids. Even if Its awhile until I see any serious offered action, the armor will help with Beltway traffic. Plus, it is just cool.

Finally decided and committed to Mobtown Off-road for my bolt on sliders. Great engineering, strong product, super to work with and East Coast! DCSB with Kickout. Got the filler plates as a custom add on (did I say they were super to work with?).

Will post pics when I get them and I imagine Mobtown will post teasers. Totally stoked.

Ha ha! That's what I'm planning. No rocks, no zombies, and no parking lot a-holes.
