Do alot of fast loose sand driving on beach. should I get RCV Ultimate IFS CV Axles ? and lower control arms? sometimes I feel and hear like one cv might be slipping when I hit a low spot.

Crash, again sorry. I know you don't mind but I do!!!!! I swear to you this will stop someday...ha

Mr. Tire and rim pro. What about offset??? Just got off the phone with my Tire and Rim guy. I'm getting Fuel rims and he asked me what width do I want and what offset.

I told him I want everything as close to stock as possible. And I told him they were 265/70 tires and want the rims to match that width Was that the correct thing to say???I figured I would ask you advice before I pull the trigger

I believe your sport wheels are 17x7.5 + 30 offset.
My upgraded TRD forged wheels are 17x7.5 + 6 offset.

Meaning my wheels are pushed out 24mm further on each side, or about 1", to sit nearly flush with the flares. I like the slightly wider stance for a minor stability improvement to counter the small lift and it looks more aggressive.

What wheel size are you looking at?

Here is my problem where I need my pro friend(you)
I'm thinking of these Fuel Beasts D564. But I only like the deep ones. the ones that are flush are gross(to me). I attached both. I'm wondering if the deep ones I like are too much of an negative offset(I think that's right how I said it)

Also what do you think of these? do you like? you can be honest. Picking rims is the hardest thing in the world. I have that Pyrite Mica colored Truck.Like-Deep.jpg Dont like-Flush.jpg Capture.jpg

The color goes well with your truck, however those wheels only come in 9"+ wide. And the ones you are looking at I believe have a -12 offset. So those wheels are going to stick out about 1.5" past the edge of your flares. Not a good look IMO for a small lift. I wouldn't run anything larger than an 8" wide wheel. 265/70R17s are not going to mount on a 9" tire (within spec). KO2s for instance spec a range of 7-8.5" wide wheel. The wider wheel with that offset could also run into clearance issues when turning to lock. If you do any 4 wheeling, (or planning on getting into it) you want to deflate your tires and the wider wheel will make it much more likely to pop a bead. Overall not a good fit for a small lift IMO. Going with the flush ones will save about 1.25" so they only stick out roughly .25" from the flare, though I'm still not sure on clearance issues with that wide of a wheel.

Then onto the next ones. That's why I asked!!!!! So what width do I want? That was one of the questions I answered him with "close to stock" on. I would rather have a number to tell them. Is 8" it or should I be less?

Stock TRD is 7, stock sport is 7.5. And 9 is not "close to stock". I'd stay between 7-8 if you plan on running 265s. I think 7.5 is ideal because it allows a better seal for airing down and you can still use it if you decide to run 285s in the future.

Well thank god for you or idiot me would have two thousand dollars worth of trash to throw away

Looks like I'm in trouble then with Fuel. Mostly everything is 9" and only a few rims are available in 8". but I have to look closer. I know 7.5 is ideal but what you think about 8". You know me from the very first post about a lift. I want no complications. If I have to pack up and drive to Washington I don't want to have to worry about it. I need this truck to still be 100% road ready. I 4WD but just for fun. Sometimes we go crazy but not like you. I'm in Massachusetts and don't have the terrain you have. Mostly woods and sand pits. And the most important of them all is snow!!!! I had the most snowfall in the country last year. That's not normal but still possible every year.

How about lets go back to my original post picture rims. Do these stick out too far? These are Fuel rims so they have to be 8.5" wide. Is the dealer doing this wrong also? I love the Toyota rims and know they are the best. But I really wanted to try aftermarket for the first time in my life. But if it can't be done in the right way I won't.

Hard to say without a shot from the front or rear, however those are 285s which are 0.8" wider than 265s. They removed the flaps because the tires rubbed on them. The tires probably rub the cab mount as well. An 8.5" wheel will be in spec for 285s.

Interestingly I just checked Toyos specs for their Open Country ATII (tire pictured).
    265/70R17 P-load wheel width: 7"-9"
    265/70/R17 E-load wheel width: 7"-8.5"

So Toyo specs allow a wider wheel than BFG. Wider than I would run personally, but if you are not airing down it would be fine for those tires as long as your running a matching spec tire.

If I am reading the right Fuel wheel specs, looks like those wheels come in either a 25 or 20 offset. Sport stock is 30. So a very mild bump out, I'd get the 20 offset to avoid rubbing. My offset is 6 for comparison, but that wheel is 1" wider, so it will stick out another .5", which should put the outer edge of your tire about the same as mine in relation to the fender.

Edit: Also looks like those wheels weigh 26lbs, which is very reasonable for an aftermarket wheel.

I loved Fuel too while looking for new wheels, but, yeah, they were all way too huge for what I wanted. I now think of Fuel as overpriced bling-bling wheels.

I went with the 7" TRD SEMA wheels. Love them. But I also have no desire to ever go 285's either....

Good choice. Those were the other ones I was looking at till I found the TRD forged wheels on craigslist. Cheaper and lighter (25lbs) than any of the TRD 17" wheels. One of the dealer sites sells them for $161 a wheel.

    Edit: Here: https://parts.olathetoyota.com/ppc.html?searchText=PTR20-35110-BK
That is black, but also avail in grey.

No problem. I can't take all the credit, you would have found them eventually - they're fairly well-known around here. =D

As per the SEMA thread there are those that ran into an issue with the red letters peeling off the hub after a few months. Before I had the wheels installed I taped off those letters as best I could and sprayed a layer of clearcoat on them. Not saying this is necessary, but after a MN winter my letters are still looking perfect.

Gotta post pics when you get them on!
