luchin: >>so now you're insinuating that I'm First Nations....this is Canada, haven't you been following the ignorance...It's an Igloo.....>>

Lighten up bro. Have no idea what you are talking about with "First Nations" and no need to insult me. Just saw you were from the island and thought I would share that I lied near Duncan a long time ago in a tipi. Peace.

It was a joke....shit, thought you were joking about living in a tipi...hence the cross reference to an igloo. Do people still live in tipi's here?!?

Yeah, the danger of this type of communication...can't see a face or hear it in the voice hey? Those smiley faces really help :) I'm in the White Mountains of Arizona so I am not sure of what goes on up there anymore. Duncan was a small place then and they were just putting in highways in 1970. I lived in a Souix tipi I made for a bunch of years. The tipi business is pretty big here in the states, more for folks camping and wannabe Indians. We were living in one in the hippie days. Best living space I've ever had.

LMAO. Indians...let me get my winchester and load up the wagon. :quickdraw: Uh, we have to call them First Nations people her in the disgustingly politically correct country of Canada. Indians works for me though. Just gotta specify dot or feather. I'm not an indian btw, french Canadian and no Louise Riel is not my ancestor...at least I don't think he is....Damn 1970!! That't before I was born....Duncan has a very large population of Indians living there. When you mentioned a tipi I thought maybe you were talking about a yurt.

How was it the best living space you ever had?

PC (politically correct not Windoze) behavior is horribly strong here as well in some states. Washington state University students "risk a failing grade if they use any common descriptors that a teacher considers “oppressive and hateful language.” This would be words like male and female or use the words “illegal alien” or “illegals” rather than the preferred terms of “‘undocumented’ migrants/immigrants/persons.” I hope it is not breaking a "PC" thing here about talking about this stuff on this thread :(

Yeah, 1970 dem were de days

As to Tipi living: Living in a circle with no corners or dead air or energy with a fire or “light” at the center of the circle is amazing. A well staked down tipi can withstand incredible wind. "Dances With Wolves" had the inner look of a tipi very correct.

If there is a way to contact me off the thread feel free to do it and I can elaborate a bit.
