I noticed it getting out of the truck, I'm not a heavy chick by any means, only 170lbs and it was horrible. One of the maintenance guys who works for a dealership is gonna crawl under it when he is in doing work on the boo boo bus' and see what exactly it is. I'll let ya's know

No shit. Half tempting to snap one with a fucking press just so I can get this "recall" underway.

Looks like it's gonna need some kind of catalyst to get it going.

Toyota told me to take it to the dealer and see if I qualify to start the recall early but I doubt the dealer will approve it since it's not broken. Im getting tired of it bottoming out everytime I hit a bump though.

I know this may be dishonest, but my leafs are squeeking like crazy. It is so annoying. I have tried everything. I even took it to the dealer to see if I qualified...

My suggestion is that we all fuck our leaf springs up so that we can go get new ones.

    Any suggestions?

    Circle saw?

    Sanding and rusting?

    Hammer?

    Jackhammer?

    Lol

But seriously let's fuck our shit up so toyota pays cuz if u look at the Colorado it doesn't have these problems...

Well, before the recall came out, I put in an AAL as my springs were so bad I was siting on the stops. I checked with my dealer, after I got the initial recall letter, and they said Toyota may pay for the cost but I wouldn't know until the recall started! But, still haven't got the final recall letter so still waiting.

After noticing that both sides of my leaf packs were broken (the main leaf on each), I drove to Toyota and told them about it. They didn't even have to jack up the truck because they were that bad. After waiting 3 weeks to get the springs, I finally set up an appointment and had them swapped out. The dealership said they were doing it out of "Goodwill due to recall still pending." Total cost billed to Toyota was $1465.33.

Just got another letter from Toyota saying they had an update to this recall.

It says they are working hard sourcing the parts and it should be ready sometime in early 2016

    What a bunch of BS.

Wth? I understand that it takes time to establish a recall, but come on. We've been waiting for what a year now? To me, that's unacceptable that they need more time. It "should be ready in early 2016", will turn into more time. Just wait and see.

Here is the new letter. More waiting. Maybe early 2016. Toyota is a circle jerk without a pivot man.

If it wasn't so absurd it would be laughable. The biggest car company in the world cant get springs manufactured in over a year.

Goes along with my "we're getting 2016 springs" theory. The new '16s must be getting the first batches

So what if I replace my springs now on my own, do you guys think I can still get reimbursed? They are pretty wore out and it's getting rediculous having to wait.

Yep, I just got that one a couple days ago. I got all happy when I saw it, thinking it was finally ready. Nope, just saying the exact same thing they said a year ago.....
Seriously, why even bother with the expense of sending out these letters when they don't say anything????
