    Yes.
I got a great deal on a Toyota 3rd member with the factory E-Locker which I'm going to eventually replace my mechanical Limited Slip with. ('07 TRD Sport) I know I will need to modify the housing a little bit to make this work, but that's not a big deal.

What I'm wondering is what options there are for an IFS 05+ Tacoma front locker. I know ARB has a front locker for our trucks. What other options are there? Did Toyota ever build an e-locker that could be made to fit?

If ARB is the only game in town, can someone point me to exactly what it is I need to pick up? There are so many options, and I'm having a hard time determining which ones are appropriate for my truck (with stock gearing.)

    Thanks!

I think the last Toyotas that had a locking front diff as a factory option were the J80 Land Cruisers, but they were solid front axle so that probably doesn't help you at all.

    Yes.
I "think" the front diff is still an 8", so it "might" be possible to put a rear e-locker in the front. I'm not sure I've found any posts indicating this has or can be done though.

I don't think the elocker third will fit in the front clamshell. Don't quote me but I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe it's possible.

ARB is the only commercially available option I've found. I toyed with the idea of adding the ARB, front and rear, as I also have the Sport 4X4. Too much $$ for me to fork over. I have found out if I air down properly and not take big risks, I'll never get stuck when off-roading, and I haven't yet. I've learned to live with my truck's limitations.

FYI the factory elocker 3rd is not just a drop into a non elocker axle housing, the housings themselves are different, elocker housing has more clearance for the actuator.

    Yes.
I'm aware there are some adjustments that need to be made to the housing for the e-locker third to drop in.
