Tore out my old pos garage door opener today. It was developing sporadic coomunication issues with the remotes. Original to the house 2003 vintage. Spent about 4 hours installing this new chamberlain one. Pretty impressed so far. Very quiet and has wifi connectivity and alerts, can open and close this thing from anywhere.

Cool, yeah, it says maybe 1-2 year life on battery.

 

And away we go. I may need to buy a metric ruler, would make this simpler.

 

I always measure each one and also check the spacing on all the hardware before doing any drilling because I've had differences in the same handle stud locations by up to 1/8"

 

Since it's only a few im laying out all the big ones then check the 10 door ones and template them. I sat there for 10 solid mins to make sure I was happy with these.

No I take scrap luaun plywood and give build a corner on it like a trisquare. It's good for one or two kitchens then I toss it.

Project Next : Finish Ensuite

Started to get the ensuite to a point we can wrap it all up , changed a bit of venting and altered some framing which required some drywall work that should be done today . In the meantime I started installing 1/2" Kerdiboard in the shower enclosure

 

Replaced with new WaterTrol pressure tank and switch. Bladder finally exploded in the 20 yr old one.

 

Doing the tile yourself? I did a somewhat similar shower like that with only one pitched wall

 

I'm doing the prep and most likely most of the cutting for field sizes but my tiler friend is doing the actual install

 

Tiles one of the things that I love and hate. I like laying out and interesting patterns and looks. I hate grouting. And I love when it's done. And as I'm coming to find out I'm my own nightmare customer when it comes to picking things out for myself.

After a couple days of getting side tracked with a paying job I got the rest of the Kerdiboard installed in the shower today

 

There's a pot light in the shower as well as the rest of the room

 

What system are you using for the pan?

 

Funny you say that because today while I was doing this I actually felt like I could see the finish line for the house for the first time in 8 years

So no fiberglass?
