I have a 2011 V6 double cab bone stock with 87k miles. There is a condensate drain line that comes out of the firewall on the passenger side of the engine bay. I have noticed this continuing to drip water for many hours (sometimes the next day still) after parking the truck. This all started after a long summer of using exclusively AC and recently I used heat to clear fog off the windshield during some recent storms. I have owned the thing since new and never recall that line leaking for that long. Is this a sign my heater coil is bad? Or is this normal and maybe I just never noticed it before? The water is purely water - no signs of anti freeze. I have seen the water from it before - I know its a drain line for this purpose, just never noticed water dripping from it 8 hours or more after I parked it.

Youll know if the heater core is leaking. It will smell an taste sweet.

You could have mildew clogging up the evaporator core, take some compressed air and blow it up the drain line and see if it's blocked. It could jut be draining slow.

Yes, that is your AC condensation drain tube. Just make sure its not partially clogged, sounds like maybe there might be something in there and its draining a lot slower.

Caterpillar cocoons get in there too.
