Help. Can't find 215-70 14 tires for my 1995 Tacoma 2WD 2.4 litre. What larger wheels will fit this truck with the right bolt pattern and offset? 15" or 16" Any advice appreciated.

You can run any size wheel 14"+ as long as the bolt pattern is 5x4.5. According to one website, the recommended offset for our trucks is between +20 and +42mm. If you don't care about where the outside of your tire sits with respect to the fender, you can choose any offset in between. I wouldn't take those specs to heart though. You'd probably be okay going outside those measurements by a few mm.

Discount tire direct has three in those size....2 styles are Cooper, and one is Hancook. you didn't look real hard.....as far as any wheel, you have to be careful the hole size in the center, just a warning...

Oops that's right. Forgot about center bore. 67.1mm for 5-luggers. You can go larger though, nbd.

Up in the frozen north we have the choice of BF Goodrich TA's and the Cooper, all car tires but I didn't like the tread patterns, we get a lot of rain and the existing BF Goodrich are terrible...Better choices in 15" and larger

Good luck finding a 5 lug wheel with the 67.5mm center bore. I looked a lot for a 15" wheel that would fit and it wasn't easy, unless you buy new aftermarket wheels. They were just too expensive for my old 95.5.

You can fix that with a grinder. The center does not have to be a perfect fit. The studs are what position the wheel.

While that will work, unless you do a perfect centered circle removal of the offending metal, you are asking for the wheel itself to be harder to balance....my advise is to avoid this method at all costs...

Agree caution is required. The good thing is since it's the center it actually has minimal impact. I've run a few wheels like this for a long time with no issue. The key is removing just a bit of material at a time, not trying to hog it all at once.

If you want it perfect, a machine shop can knock it out quickly for reasonable cost.

I have a friend who lives in Clearwater, Bob Flynn, retired from Delta Airlines and BIC (the pen maker), kinda into flying now, maybe you know him? Just throwing that out, I know a whole lot of people live in that general area...

Sorry, no. I'm not a fly boy, but I know a couple people who are. If he keeps a light plane at Clearwater Airpark, that's pretty close by.

I do know where the Bic plant is too :)

I've lived in this county for all but about 10 years of my life. This is my 2nd time in Clearwater, making about 27 years here. So I do know a couple of folks. But it's a big place, and you don't really even know when you change cities while driving anymore; they pretty much merge into one........
