Placed my order Friday and Dealer Said a Tacoma I built was available, has a VIN and was headed to a NC dealer. He snagged the allocation and expects it October or sooner....It's a pretty common build I guess.

    MSRP $35684.34 Paying $33653 OTD

I don't do payments and surely don't need a 4WD. So $2700 in another lump sum.'When one pays cash $3000 is significant for something that will never be used. Plus GWVW is lower with 2WD for towing

I 'll spend a thousand or so on Seat Covers,Tonneau, nerf bars. Don't want to pay a premium for insurance and maintenance on a 4WD either. Th ONLY time I ever used 4WD was off roading around in Las Vegas in the 90s, Here In the south a 4WD is necessary only if one goes "mudding and hobby off roading" neither of which I do...2WDs can transverse dirt roads easily. I never even used the locker on my last TRD OR

I am only paying $33,500 OTD Not $35500 Plus Tax and TTL The Premium Tech and JBL is all I really need or want for 99.9% street use

That's another $50 a month for 4WD... Would be worth it for someone who will actually use the 4WD

And that doesn't even account for the additional insurance premium and lower MPG for 4WD. So you're basically talking an extra $100/mo, give or take, all things considered. Worth paying the extra for someone who plans on using it or has extra money to throw around. Worth leaving out for those who have no need for it, or would prefer the additional payload and towing of the RWD. I'm looking forward to having extra money for mods.
