I think you guys are being a little silly demanding one that is made in Texas vs Mexico. Do you think the Texas one will be better? There are plenty of Texas born morons working in factories in Texas....just like there are in Mexico and everywhere else.

In the end, it comes down to whether you trust Toyota.

BTW, do you care to check where every part in a Texas built Toyota was truly produced?

The truck is half made in Mexico anyways and just assembled in Texas. The frame and the bed are both made in Mexico. I have noticed a quality difference from when they were made in Kentucky but I would assume they are just slamming them out trying to keep up with the demand.

If you are noticing a quality difference, maybe Toyota has made an overall change which has resulted in what you are referring to.

They all channel stuff. The difference is that there seems to be actual demand on the other end of the funnel for Tacoma. That doesn't mean it's not impacted by external factors and is price insensitive. They have supposedly been cranking them out for a few weeks now.

It's definitely quality control. Horrible welds, misfit brackets, bending things to make it fit. One of the last ones I got had a bunch of welds ground down and bubble gum welded over it, another the inner c part of the boxed frame was off by about 1/2 and the spring hanger was bent to slide over the frame.

One had to go back because the trains mount was in the wrong spot and body mounts wouldn't line up correctly.

I agree. Not too many people work harder than the Mexican people... I am more than glad to get a 3TM Truck over a 5TM
Legal Mexicans framed my house and I had only one call back for a faulty shower faucet. My builder told me to take a credit card and see if I could slip it between any frame joints.....I found it to be extremely tight and accurate, The home next store was built by local workers and they were fishing in the pond while my house was being framed. The owner had a lot of issues including a badly cracked concrete driveway and out of square doors and windows.

Mexicans do great work and have a great work ethic. I would hire them to do anything. At the end of the day Toyota will ensure QDR no matter where built.

I don't care who is making the truck. I care where it's made. With a $40k truck it's nice to be able to say it's an American made truck.

lol Mexicans don't work any better than any other race. Years ago when Mexicans first got here, yes, they worked their asses off. Now they have become lazy and "american-ized" just like the rest of us here. They under-cut every contractor and people expect to get a better quality job? HA! Being in the landscaping business I see it everyday, all day. They're either on their phones or staring at the woman walking by on the sidewalk. They're quality of work has gone down the bucket. But that goes across the board with all races. It's truly hard to find good work out of anyone.
Doesn't matter where it's made, just as long as it's done right!

This. you are spending what many people make in an entire year on a truck. want to make my truck in a narco state hell hole ? great give me a damn discount and let me make the choice. Luckily we are able to pick up on that.I'd be surprised if the average buyer knows. Remember how all of this globalization was supposed to result in lower prices? bhahhahahahahahahaaahahaha

So many of the parts that go into the truck are made all over the world and in countries that are taking jobs away. So, is it really MADE IN THE USA or just assembled in the USA?

It is like buying something from IKEA. Made in some other country really but then assembled here by you (in your living room after 6 hours of cursing at the instructions).
