Is there any need to upgrade your brakes on a 2011 for towing a camper that has electric brakes on it? I'm debating the ride rites vs upgrade of brakes which I feel is kind of safety vs comfort. Trailer is towed at 5800 lbs.

There really isn't much/any "upgrade" you can do that will increase the stopping power of your truck brakes. Just make sure that they are in good shape. Also make sure that the trailer's brakes are in good shape / working, and set correctly, then the trailer will handle its own stopping.
