Clicking noise when turning 03 Tacoma on

    Locking Tailgate & Gas Cap and extra bed D-rings
    If no voltage loss in the cables and a good battery, it could be burned solenoid contacts in the starter.

    If your starter is making a clicking noise and not turning the crank over then it isn't getting enough power. Check the leads from the battery to the started, they are more than likely corroded.

    For what it's worth, I had a new battery go bad in less than 3 years on my fj cruiser. Had it replaced for free under warranty. If you're getting the clicking noise it seems like you're not getting enough amps to turn the engine over. My experience has been that no noise would possibly be a bad starter.
