Squeaky Dakars : Any advice from others with the Dakars ?

    I'll give some more credit to the zip tie method (they were more readily accessible than pond liner or other materials). Put them in the usual spots and it helped. I was still getting some squeak from the bushings because they were too tight. Loosened them up and shot some lube in and torqued to spec. Silent as a mouse now!

    That is the darn noise we all have!
    Man,how come Toyota does nt take care of this deffect..
    I never had that noise,until they changed my leafs and frame..
    Though,i am totally gratefull that at least they changed my frame,and etc etc..
    But again,how come such a great truck has such noises?? That should nt be there..??

    I'm sure its a short term fix that may last 6 months to a year. But it was a 20 minute job which I'll be happy to repeat every year so my truck doesn't sound like a beater.

    So I ordered the spring liner material I previously linked to. Im going to install about a 4" section on the end of each leaf that currently has no protection. I'll probably end up using a 3M spray adhesive on one side to make it stay put. I'll update tomorrow on how the install goes. I anticipate that it will fix the problem and be a bit cleaner of a solution than we have been using.

    So, I imagine your plan is to run the length of each leaf, as the product is intended to be used? One roll comes with 20 feet. So, you'll definitely have enough to do so.
