Im looking at a 1994 toyota pickup. it has 30,000 mile on the original 22r engine. I took it to the dealership and got the 120 point inspection. everything came back green light except for a small hole on the inside of the frame about half the diameter of a dime. the guy I'm buying it from said he'd patch the frame for me. I know eventually the frame would give me an issue but if i can get 100k out of the frame the way it is then i feel it'd be worth my money. anyone with knowledge about how long I could expect this frame to last?

Depends where YOU live and where it's been. If rust is starting already, the damage is done. You are taking a chance.

thanks. truck has been in New England but ill be taking it to the midwest. any idea how aggressive the rust will act if the truck is in a climate where it wont be exposed to a ton of salt/snow?

I have frames that see Winter Chemicals pretty much every winter since the mid eighties

    Still going after some TLC

Really no way to put a time limit on.
