no sound from just the sub or all the speakers? If its just the sub check the wiring in the box.

Everything runs thru the sub. This is what we did....checked all fuse and we have power to everything. Changed head unit still no sound, use an external speaker and hooked it directly to head we have sound. Changed the rca cables from head to amp still no sound. Checked speakers and sub with 9v battery all working. Hooked Iphone directly to amp with rca cable no sound......I'm thinking the amp is bad

Definitely sounds like its the amp. Thats the fucked part about amps, just cause the power light is on doesn't mean its actually functioning.

So this is extremely similar to something that I am experiencing right now as well.

This probably varies from amp to amp, but for the amp to "look on", i.e. showing the green power light, does it need both power and successful receipt of the remote power on signal, or is just the fact that it has power connected (but no remote signal) enough to show the light?

I have a DMM in the garage somewhere that I can use to check, but thought I'd see how it is supposed to work first.

I don't know if it needs both to power on, but it definitely needs "remote power". Remote is the on switch.
