2015 Tacoma DCLB Window Squeeking

Didn't notice it until I was home but my driver side window has a little rattle noise to it when the window is rolled all the way up.

Wondering if anyone has had this issue or know of a quick fix I can do without having to drive it back to dealership? Didn't want to start taking door apart or anything considering brand new truck just bought Saturday.

So brought this to dealership before I went crazy with silcone lube or putting tape in there. They said they went for a drive in it and heard it, so they then took 2 other trucks on the lot (doubt it) for a ride and heard the same thing. So they said this is just a characteristic of the vehicle. So you were correct the dealership won't do shit to fix it. Guess I'm having a lube party tonight!!

Really? Did they all vibrate on the same window? Mine is the passenger side and I was taking it in this weekend. I'd rather not spray a bunch of crap in the seals. Shouldn't have to deal with it in a brand new vehicle.

 

Mine is driver and passanger. They adjusted doors and I think they lubed it even though they didn't tell me they did. Was silent on my way home last night but we'll see.

 

That's what I was going too request to have done. What did they lube? The door or the seal?

 

Let's be clear: it isn't a vibration. It is the tubular seal around the window sticking, and unsticking to itself on the inside. It will drive you mad and steal your souls if you don't exorcise it.

The only fix is to make not stick anymore. The only way to do that, is spray silicone inside the seal.

This fix has worked for everybody who has tried it as far as I know, and it's simple to do.

 

Yeah I know. But i'm gonna see if adjusting the doors solves it before I spray into it.

 

They didn't even tell me if they did lube it, but I felt the seal and it felt slick. It comes from the seal on the window. If you look at voodoo post link above you will see a pic of the spot it comes from.

Yea it's annoying that thus happens on brand new truck. Hopefully them adjustin door fixes It, if not I'll continue to lube it to keep it quiet and maybe try the electrical tape fix others have had good success with.

 

I had some worry about spraying it, but it's a actually a recommended thing to help protect the seals anyways. It doesn't make a mess and it's not as bad as you would think. Just spray it till it leaks out then wipe down the excess.

 

I've tried the silicone spray fix without success but then figured out I'm actually having the weatherstripping make the noise and not the door seal. What is this electrical tape fix? Would that fix a noisy weatherstrip?

 

If you read through the link Voodoo posted here, you will see people mention it. Just something like putting electrical tape where the sticky part is that way instead of it making the sticky noise against it self, the smooth electrical tape prevents any noise. Luckily I haven't heard anything since the dealership adjusted my doors. If you haven't, I would request for them to do that. I'm sure it will be back before too long, but at least now I know the dealership did whatever they're willing to about this known issue before I starter rigging it up with tape.
