I have just racked up about 73,000 miles on my 2009 DCSB TRD OffRoad Tacoma. As well I just replaced my worn out TSB leafs and icon 3 leaf pack to all pro expo leafs. I have noticed some looseness in the front end with periodic squeaking and knocks.

I am wondering from all you maintenance pros, what are the usual suspects to check and replace at this mileage besides manufacturer recommended service.

First things comes to mind from reading here:

LCA Ball Joints (mine are split at the bellow and leaking)
    Steering Pump and Pulley
    Radiator bushings
    Body Mount Bushings

I want to keep everything in working order and gliding like butter. I have had all maintenance done at the intervals required.

If you do a lot of off-roading - 3 of these might need changing. 73K in my opinion isn't all that much mileage, especially for a Toyota, but again, you off-road and to what extent I don't know.

Not sure why a steering pump and pulley would need to be changed at 73K.

If it were mine, I would examine the usual suspects and change accordingly:

    - oil/filter
    - cabin filter
    - air filter
    - serpentine belt/hoses
    - spark plugs
    - coolant
    - clean radiator-a/c condenser fins
    - PCV valve
    - power steering fluid
    - brake fluid
    - transmission fluid
    - 4x4 drive gear oil
    - differential oil
    - brake pads/shoes
    - examine/rotate tires
    - wiper blades

That is mostly normal services. I have those done at the proper intervals. I am specifically looking for worn areas that are not apart of normal service.

like pulleys, pumps, bushings, and hoses.

I agree 73k is not a lot and i do wheel it from time to time. What i have noticed is the front end seems looser so i was trying to address that through some preventive maintenance or early replacements.

    thanks for the info

Wow! What do you do with your truck? I am at 90k and my front end still feels (and sounds) brand new.

There's a guy on here who was beating his truck down logging roads for almost all of its miles, blowing up shocks left and right, yet I don't think he ever needed front end work. See here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/my-11-tacoma-75k-miles-later.297519/

Maybe I am paranoid or not sure what I am experiencing. My truck definitely does not get that kind of use.

I know that my lca ball joints have splits in them and are leaking. I have heard of bad bushings in the front for the radiator mount, but not familiar with that.

    Thanks for the info
