+1. Also confused. DC's can be had with premium and tech package which includes color-matched bumper and such. So what this MGM have?

They do if you get the double poverty edition special. 4 banger MT.

but it doesn't matter because you can't do a handbrake turn with a foot brake.

Loved my double poverty edition 4x4 banger MT! Prefer the E-Brake on the the floor like my 2014. Didn't mind the E-Brake in the dash of my 2011 I4. Not crazy about console E-Brakes. Console E-Brakes are for sports cars in my mind.

All pre-2005's had dash-mounted parking brakes.
2005-2015's have dash mounted parking brakes on M/T models and floor pedals on A/T models.
2016's have console mounted parking brakes (just like the Land Cruiser, 4Runner and so on).

    There, that answers that.

(Toyota, and not many other manufacturers - none I can think of - will have a floor-pedal parking brake in a manual transmission vehicle).

Drove a 2015 TRD dblcab Offroad 4x4 today and a 2016 dblcab offroad 4x4 to see if I could tell difference. Honestly i really feel like my beater truck (2003 Ford Ranger 4x4 XLT 4.0L with 140k miles and 265/75R16 duratracs) has more power or at least better acceleration than both Gen 2 and Gen 3. Is it a weight issue? Ugh guess I'll hang onto my BMW for my commuter and ranger for hunting and offroad. Wanted to consolidate but not making sense.

Ahhh so purrty. Thanks for sharing. I was really curious how MGM would look with those black over fenders. Hardly noticeable to be honest. That's gonna be my truck except it will have the premium and tech with a manual tranny and no running boards. Great looking vehicle. I can't wait.

Get the SR! It doesn't have all that crap and is a lot cheaper. But it still has all the basic stuff most people need.

Part of it is a weight issue. The other thing is they're not supposed to be fast. They're just not supposed to be slow. They'll do a 0-60 in the neighborhood of 7.5 seconds. That's not going to knock anyones socks off. The 3rd gen isn't supposed to be faster than the 2nd gen, just more efficient. it does have more horse power but that will really only matter for highway passing.

Did 4Runner go to a handbrake? My 2010 had a foot brake.

The only 2nd gen Taco that I've driven had a 6MT, so that explains why I thought they all had dash brakes. I've also driven two 1 gen Tacomas with the dash brake.

No, the 4Runner used to have a handbrake, they moved to pedals on more recent trucks actually. Recent being 2003, haha. I was indeed thinking of the older models.

Like my 2015 TACOMA interior better. New interior looks to sporty for a truck.
