I have a 2010 DC with 2.5" front and rear OME lift (w/ chopped cap mounts) and want to switch from DuraTracs 285/75/R17's on ProComp 17x9 (4.8 backspace) to a 255 Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx.

    1) Are there any 2nd gen owners running 255/85/r16s? When I put on the 285's the guys at 4 Wheel Parts told me that the 16" ProComps would not clear the brake calipers so I went up to 17's. If possible I'd like to go with a 16" wheel.

    2) If your running 255's on a 2nd gen with either 16's or 17's can you post pics and give your wheel specs (brand, diameter, width, backspace) and let me know if you rub at max stuff. I'd like to bring the tire further out in the wheel well without rubbing fender at full flex.

    Thanks.

I have a 3in stage two icon kit with ome dakar rear leafs and 255/85/16 maxis bighorns. It looks great and rides great on and offroad and I did not have to chop or cut anything other than take the mudflaps off. I have a 2014 trd 4x4 quad cab with the stock trd wheels. I also have the stock upper control arms. I would recco upgrading these though.f66fb95376b74f7f73c8f88edfad05d4_52a6a5540c0beac566765d01ecafa238ec2a2cf7.jpg7f6e1546b031d10c5b36870285db7da8_1c17111983dc42c377389f5e08b837385f70d65a.jpg

I'm running Toyo M55 255s on stock steel rims with billies set at 1.75 with my stock base model coils (about 2.5" lift). Minimal rubbing at full turn on the stock UCA and minimal rubbing on the mudflaps (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002NIJS0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00) at full stuff and turn. Full stuff with the wheels straight, there's no rub.

Road manners are excellent with this setup.
