Good day. Just finished my install, PG 600.2ti pushing an Eclipse SW7000, and a ZX400.2ti on the ID CTX65CS. The volume gets uncomfortably loud without audible clipping (proper tune in the morning, it is now beer thirty after 2 3am nights) with the gains all the way down. There is an audiocontrol overdrive in the mix to attempt to get the signal up, but I fear I went too far and too old school with this build.

Who am I kidding, I am a 2x12 guy and this single 10 is deeper and tighter than my back in the day stuff. Question is at half volume on the HU the kids complain, the sub is not broken in yet and the gains are rock bottom: still do a proper tune? I haven't used an oscope in years...

I remember reading that even if you upgrade the equipment the electronics backing it up still need tweaking to allow your aftermarket gear to perform to their full capability! I forget what the limiting factor is.. but suffice it to say that speaker upgrades require more than plug n play. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will respond with some facts for ya!

I have not done the big 3 yet, there is nearly no draw from loud play. I will not actually push the sub for another 6-7 hours but I am still giggling like a little kid. Lights don't dim, and if I trust my crappy multi-meter I am dipping to 13.1 volts on a bass mechanics cd. Seems the draw on these amps are minimal for now...

I better cool this with the neighbors...lol

I haven't ever used an Overdrive - I've only ever had 4V or 5V preamp outputs, so I still have to turn up my gains. I suspect that with your setup, its your Overdrive allowing you to start off with a high quality 8V or 9V signal, which you get to then amplify. If anything, just turn your main speaker amp gains down until your ears are comfortable. You may even need to roll back the Overdrive a bit if thats an option.

I doubt that I am pushing more than 6v on the overdrive, it is only half way up and I can't find my oscope to test for clipping so I get nervous. Gains on both amps are fully down and it mixes between the sub and mids almost perfectly. I will be tuning the amps slightly higher if only to put my lpl44 to use, it only turns the gain down and there is no adjustment if it is there already lol.

I am so very happy I did this the right way instead of piecing it together, I still can't believe that 1 10inch is making me happy and moving the air it is.
