hi not very handy with a auto . I need your thoughts on service for. a 2007 Tacoma ..
The oil and filters have been changed regularly .
What special service is recommend ? at 100000 miles.
The dealer says all the fluids that is fine but my other car the GM dealer recommends
that I change. The timing belt and water pump also..Toyota says only if the water pump is leaking not the issue here but I would love to here what you folks suggest about the timing belt and water pump Thanks

Changing the timing belt at 100K (or before) is needed because the timing belt is made of some type(s) of synthetic rubber/fiber. They break and when they do your engine is almost always toast. They would change the timing belt and water pump together because to get to the timing belt took so much labor you just as well should replace the water pump as well.

To my knowledge the Tacoma's have timing chains. Made of steel. Life expectancy of a timing chain can be as high as 300k. So I expect my timing chain to last the life of my vehicle. YMMV.

Your 2005 tacoma has a timing chain. NO BELT.....so no need to do anything with that.

At 100k miles - the major things are the Auto transmission fluid should be flushed / filled. The engine coolant should be flushed & filled.

Do you have an owners manual? All of this should be mentioned in your owners manual.

Water pump? I agree with the dealer...change if the water pump is leaking or if you're having 'cooling' issues. Majority of the cases, the water pumps leak far sooner than they stop actually working. The seal around the block starts to break down. You'll slowly start missing cooling in your reservoir tank before you'll notice anything dripping on the driveway.

And of course...at 100K, make sure you're up to date with your differential oil changes, transfer case oil changes, spark plugs, and lubricating your driveshaft u-joints.

Other things to consider at 100k - flushing out old steering pump fluid, flushing out old brake fluid, & flushing out old clutch fluid too (if applicable)

I believe the manual calls for the Antifreeze to be changed out at 100k, might as well change the Thermostat as well.
