I know. It was pretty mind blowing. And that's with 4.10 rear gears so not exactly a terrible ratio for my setup.

4 banger just doesn't like it. To be fair, I forgot to add the shell weight as well and whatever difference in drag it may make.

Probably had 550 lbs of humans, 55 lbs of dog and a couple hundred more in "stuff," plus 225 lbs of SnugTop so I guess that's a pretty decent load, and maybe a decent MPG return given the drive, most of it is flat highway until it's a constant climb up into higher elevations.

Yeah that four banger gets killed when you're loaded up. But it sure is nice the rest of the time. I get 15-18 unloaded. But then again I get 15-18 ) loaded.

I still get good MPGs for what I have setup IMO. Compared to other Tacoma's similarly equipped.

What's the plan for your rusted bolts anyway? Leaving as is or going to cut them free and replace?

The rusted ones on the tie rod that is causing the alignment issue? I plan to pb blast those for a few days then heat them and see if they can be worked free. It not the alignment guy suggested a different shop that he said he guarantees could break it free.
As for the lower shock bolt and spring perch on the 5100s. Those are staying in there till I get a new truck haha. I'm done messing around

Probably a year maybe 2. We'll see. My 08 only has 54k on it. I bought it new. So it'll be hard to give it up but technologically and comfort wise I want an upgrade.

    Dang! I'm almost at 37k

Another Tacoma? I don't plan on replacing my truck for at least 10 years, but when I do I'll probably size up, within reason.

That was my plan too. Keep it 10 years. Mast truck was 10 when it was recalled and bought back. Speaking of I need to go for my frame rust inspection. Maybe I'll have a new one soon. I really want something bigger. Tundra is nice but expensive and horrible on gas. But who knows what 2 years will bring. I could get an suv too. But after having a pickup for 13 years. It'll be hard to not have one

SUVs seem so small. I have almost always driven a truck, and this is my first with a shell. I can't imagine not having a crew cab truck with a shell now.

Tundra would be nice. Agreed on the cost and mileage. If I totaled my truck tomorrow I'd probably be looking at F150s.

Right now I'd get a new tacoma dclb..ftmfw haha. I want more bed space. No cap for me but I do have a bestop I use in summer which I love because it's so easy to remove and install. Tonneau cover in winter.

Nothing wrong with that. I sometimes wish I'd went DCLB when I bought, but more often I find the cab space being a little less than ideal. I definitely have had to pack my bed in a way to make everything fit, but with the added height from a shell it is never too small. Not yet anyway.

I've not driven a current F150 crew cab but I have a feeling the cab size would be appealing. The mileage certainly is.
