    I have a 1996 3.4 auto that doesn't have cruise.

I also own a 1998 SR5 3.4 manual (wrecked parts truck) that has cruise control.

How hard will it be to swap the cruise into the working truck?

I'm comfortable with swapping the stalk. I can pull and move the part under the hood as well. What wiring will be involved? Are there other parts that I cannot see that have to be moved over?

You'll need the appropriate CC computer for your truck. Not certain, but I believe it has to be exact, so that it works with the trucks ECM and harness. The other parts don't have to be exact, from my experience.

I completed this swap-in recently, on my '99 4x4 with 2.7 motor. The exact computer (mounts behind the passenger footwell) was the hardest to find. Didn't want to pay $700 from the dealer, so it took a year to find a used one.

Otherwise, my actuator and brake switch came from a '99 Camry, and the control switch came from a '97 4runner. You might need to replace the throttle cable with a longer one.
