Looking to save money at pump, but also have a confident tire Off Road. Researching one that meets best of both worlds. Thanks for any of your two cents.

Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10. The P265/75R16 is all of 1.8 lbs per tire heavier than the stock P265/70R16 rugged fails. But a slight diameter bump, are aggressive looking but not loud and i have always been solidly impressed with the traction they provide.

20150828_152615.jpg I just got Dyna pros, really like them. General Grabber AT2 does well on & off road also.

Throw Michelin LTX AT2 in the hat as well. They are on my short list for when I need new Tars. Long life, great wear i hear.

I had AT2's on my old chevy and they lasted about half as long as MS2's on that truck (245/75R16's in load range E) Granted it was a big heavy truck that shifted so hard that it could chirp the tires between first n second at 50mph (auto trans) but still, and they were not even CLOSE to as good as the MS2's in the snow n ice as they dont have any siping.

^^^ VERY happy with my Dynapro's. Haven't had them in snow yet but everything else A/T related they are great!
Have almost 28k on them and still have tons of tread left too.

Toyo AT2s suck for winter driving. The compound is too hard. They are good off road and on road if it's warm out, though.

If you are not wheeling in anything sharp, where you risk sidewall puncture, look for a P-load tire, which will be very light.

Another vote for Hankook Dynapros. I love mine. Fantastic offroad, pretty good in snow (not so great on ice), great on the street, quiet, and excellent wear so far. Also, one of the lightest AT tires you can get if you get the P-rated version.
