Hey guys So i see a lot of people with questions, I've been researching like crazy for house, trying to soak in as much knowledge as possible! And I think I finally was able to decide I want the OME lift kit with LR UCA However I have some questions that I hope you guys can help me out with! I have a 2014 tacoma off road package and I will be doing about 90% street and about 10% off roading. I would like a full 3" Lift with a smooth ride
    1. The OME lift kit has everything I need correct (besides UCA)?
    2. Do I need a driveline spacer for vibrations?
    3. 1/4 or 1/2 spacer? I want a leveled Lift no rake if possible
    4. Will this be enough to give me clearance for 33" tires ?
    5. Do i still ad a trim packer on the drivers side on top of the spacer for no lean?
    6. Are longer brake lines required?
    7. WTF are TSB leaf springs? Are the dakars worth it for my purposes?
I'm sorry for so many questions,
    Thanks David !

Doe the OME front coilovers offer lift without putting the top spacer on? Thanks.

I am expecting about 2.5" with OME 885x (22k) on them. About right with no spacer?

Also, with rear ome shocks and Icon Progressive AAL (no overload), do you think I will need a carrier drop ?

    1) depends where you buy it / what's included
    2) probably
    3) depends on what you do for rear lift
    4) depends on tire size / wheel specs
    5) yes but the OME trim packer goes under the coil , not on top
    6) depends how hard you flex it / what you do for rear lift
7)" TSB springs " are the 3+1 pack , depends if you haul constant heavy loads or tow

Hey guys I live on the east coast of Canada and have a 05 taco double cab with a 6" pro comp suspension lift. My truck is currently caught up in the 173 rust and corrosion campagain. I have met all the criteria to receive a new frame but "toyota Canada" says that because of my aftermarket lift I am not eligible for the safety recall. I have attempted to talk to someone from toyota Canada but no response yet. Has anyone else encountered this problem??? Is this ethical business?

Was planning on the OME because of the Dakars and everything in one shot, but now debating on the extra money for the Icon stage 1. Is the Icon ride truly that much better to justify. Most of my driving is highways and some chitty Pennsylvania pothole ridden roads with some slight off-road and camping.

    Another rookie here.
Wow! I just finished reading every single post in this monsterous 38 page thread and feel like I have learned so much about lifts, etc. You guys are awesome! Thanks for your insight and willingness to share.
Of course, as with any Noob, I still have a couple questions. Similar questions to those recently posed by drmcstford. I'll offer a little more info to help narrow things down.

    I have a 2013 DC PreRunner 2WD.
I am considering the OME 3" lift kit with 885s and dakar in the rear. I will also get the UCAs to make sure the post lift alignment is on point.

    1. Do I need a top plate spacer to get the full 3"? And if so, will the dakar leafs provide enough lift in the rear to level everything?

    2. Do I need a driveline spacer for vibrations with a 2WD?

    3. Putting the Dakars in the rear, would I use 1/4 or 1/2 spacer? I want a leveled Lift no rake if possible

    4. I have 17" rims currently. Can I run 285/70/17 tires without wheel spacers? And will adding wheel spacers cause any other issues with CV joints, alignment, etc.?

    5. The trim packer is a must for no lean?

    6. Having the Dakar in the rear and not carrying loads or bigtime offroad, are longer brake lines required?

    7. Are the dakars worth it for my purposes? Or better yet, will choosing the Dakars over the AAL provide better ride?

Thanks again for all your time and input. I am so pumped that I found TW and am excited to get my lift and post pics, etc.

    1. 885s should be right near 3" for a pre runner with no added weight
    2. Just use the CB drop the OME kit comes with. If you still have vibrations look for other options, every truck is different
    3. You could put 1/4" spacers but even then you could be over 3" of lift in the front. I would be more concerned about the performance of the kit than if it is 100% totally absolutely level
    4. If you have the stock 17" Toyota rims you WILL need to run wheel spacers with 285s. Tons of people run wheel spacers with no issues. Just make sure they are properly torqued.
    5. Go ahead and do the trim packer. It does it's job
    6. Nope, I have dakars in the rear and stock break lines, never had an issue
    7. The dakars are great! I think mine ride great on and offroad. If you want to smooth out the ride you can always remove one leaf.. Do it once and do it right, the dakars are way better than an AAL

Hope that helps man! Lemme know if you have any other questions!

    Hey, First post...but I've been lurking/reading.

I have a 14 prerunner v6 4 door 2wd and I want to lift it, I read 90% of this thread and thought I had decided what I want to do but now I don't know which kit to buy.

    What I do know.

    1. I want roughly 3" in front and 2 in rear
    2. ride needs to be as good or better than stock with 3" lift
    3. I am planning to get control arms also to insure alignment is correct.
    4. want to run 285/65/18's or something similar

    truck use

Well honestly it sits in front of my house 25 or more days a month as I ride a motorcycle to work. But when I do drive it its either to work in the rain, to pull a trailer with street bikes on it or to load up a couple dirt bikes and go to the track. I don't see any off road adventures other than the trail leading to where we would ride3. I may take it for a tiny trail rip from time to time but 98% of this trucks life is on road.

Has anyone tested the ome and the ultimate back to back? what about the toytec boss? I am more concerned with making the truck ride worse, with the only gain being looking better. I know mileage will get worse with bigger tires.

Not looking to break that bank but not looking to be a cheapo either.

I am 100% new to the toyota mod world, I have had many euro cars and american trucks, lifted lowered etc. what do you think will get me there and retain an oem or better ride. ( last truck was ram quad cab, 4x4, 4" lift 36 12.50's etc )

    Thanks in advance!
