I found a potentially killer deal on craigslist. The seller states that the steps are for a long bed only. To my knowledge, they would mount below the cab. would I run into the issue of them hitting the rear tire on a short bed double cab?

Yeah I think so. I have them and they run the whole length of the body between the tires.

Edit: I think so, as in yes you would have issues.

    Yes.

N-Fab makes a Double Cab version that's "wheel to wheel".

They also make a Double Cab Long Bed version that's "wheel to wheel". The long bed version usually had a third step on it to provide access into the bed. On a short bed this means it won't fit at all.
