Yesterday went dove hunting down in Frio County, TX. with my brother in laws and some friends of ours, had a good O'time.

As for myself, well I didn't get my bag limit (which is a total of 15 by the way) but still managed to shoot 13 doves out of a total of 18 shot.

Three I couldn't find-lost them in the heavy brush and tree line and two others were able to fly off even after the fact that they were wounded.

Between five shooters we had a total of 58 birds (close to 60 birds along with two wild rabbits)!

Still though afterwards we made jalapeno-poppers !

Cleaned all the birds, prep'd them, then split them, split large jalapenos, spread cream cheese on them, put the jalapenos and dove brest together then wrapped them up with smoked-black-peppered bacon, put over the grill then after well cooked, enjoyed the eats with ice cold beer to wash'em down!

Oh and by the way, those two rabbits cooked just perfect over the grill, meat was just a bit tough but still very good eating.

    Good hunt!

I am sure your breast wrap recipe is delicious... but with all those jalapenos and black pepper bacon, how can you taste the bird?

    ^^^^

I was actually praising your recipe.... and then you got me thinking....

So I went out today and picked off 7 birds out of 12 shots. Ooops... missed... a little rusty.

    My dog loved it.
