Tacoma Brainwashing Options

I had pretty much every truck under the sun and last year I headed to Toyota dealership to get myself brand new 3rd generation Taco. Disappointed I was when were told that the 3rd gen won't come out till year later. Having just sold the F150 I had a choice of a used one or the 2015. I ended up buying a 2011 DCLB TRD Sport. Nice truck over all, but didn't like everything there. The Toyota leather looked like vinyl and the model setup left plenty to be desired. At least here in Canada if you want the DC (double cab) and LB (long box) it has to be auto tranny. Also, in the LB/DC set up TRD option is only SPORT and not OFF ROAD.
It seems that the 2016 come with the same options in Canada. Reading the posts south of the border I noticed that you can get LB/DC/ manual or auto in both TRD Sport or Off Road. You can also get TRD OFF ROAD in 2x4 which I personally don't get. Going off roading in 2 wheel drive? Really, what's even more sad is that I read about some poor chap buying 2wd trd off road and asking question about Tacoma's PTA or Toy's engine brake version. He wasn't sure what that raving engine was all about.
Does anyone know the full specs and prices of the 2016. I heard the 2016 Taco up the HP to 278. I was hoping they would go over 300HP to at the least match the GM. What is the torque the new 3.5 Taco produces? Anyone knows?
