Are fuel line connectors on 2005+ Tacos proprietary?

I hope this is not a total noob question but I'm working on an aux fuel tank design and I am planning to use a
Pollak 6 port fuel selector that will also switch power and fuel level between tanks.



My guess is that the Toyota fuel line connectors are proprietary since I've found nothing like them available in aftermarket parts.

If they are not proprietary and you know what the standard is, that would greatly narrow my search for compatible connectors and fuel lines...

I'd like to connect the Polak selector into the OEM fuel system at the location of the fuel pipe clamp.

 

Are you using a second fuel pump in the aux tank?

Yes, I will have a second fule pump in the aux tank. The pollak is both an electrical and fule switch, so power to the fuel pump and the signal for the fuel level will be switched between the two tanks. This will allow the OEM fuel guage to display fule level in the aux tank.

 

To answer your question, no.

The fuel lines are the same type used on all late model Ford and GM cars & trucks. There is a tool that slips over the male end of the connector and releases the barbs that hold the female end on.

They are usually just called quick disconnect fittings.

There is a company called Dorman which makes a kit allowing you to make your own custom fuel lines with quick connect fittings. Look at page 154.
