Um my example was na vs turbo... Chevy 5.3 and didn't 5.7 were not turbo last time I checked. They were put against the turbo 6 in the f150. All I was getting at is when with technology to help make these smaller engines perform. They have to work larger to accomplish the task. This new 3.5 has to rev higher to match the old 4.0.. That 3.5 is working harder. Yes I understand most machines that do a lot of work are turbo but now were getting into commercial diesel engines and what not.. Very different then passenger vehicles.

Keep in mind that newer tech engines are more efficient with direct and port injection. It will be interesting to compare power curves from the 4.0 and the 3.5 to see if the 3.5 performs better throughout, AND has more on top.

Just because its a smaller displacement making more power doesnt necessarily mean its working harder if its a more efficient design.
