If you read the OP's original post he's talking about people in the GB. No need to be a wanker about it. "Do a search" posts don't do anything but put people off. If you don't like this one you are more than welcome to go to the other one.

That said... Here is where I mounted mine.

    20141020_152413_RichtoneHDR_zps105a9c47_6ce77d0cce5338c9014e6384f806fc3fd6aa07e2.jpg

I used one of these mounts to mount it directly to the windshield. The mount comes with VHB tape on the back so once it's there it's there.

Got it installed. I bought the horizontal mount and the windshield mount. Was planning to put it in the lower left of the windshield. Tried it, didn't like the look or the fit. And cleaning the dash means removing the full mount each time. So I went with the horizontal mount. I messed up with my first setup for tank size, I easily did a full 'reboot', did it right.

I looked at the fuel setup, when the truck is running we don't have the 'Level Sender Mode'. So we'll need to hit the upper button on each fill up as described. Unless I'm wrong. I have been known to be 100% fully stoopid at times. Ohh I have a 2014 V6. Which has no bearing on my stoopidity.

Don't think the HP etc rating will be right on my SC V6. Dunno how that will be accurate. No worries, it's a truck. Anyhoo, the unit works, looks nice, not that expensive.

I will do the performance test soon. And Potato Rock Lobster. My butt dyno says I can do it in 8 seconds to 60.

    Ultra Gauge location.jpg

And it's a city truck, no East Texas in this pic. That furry creature is my son's from his 8th year when he was full into the Whatever the things were called. Overpriced beanbags? Sit's on my dash mostly.. He's 26 now. Ohh yea Beanie Babies. Wanna buy some? Got 2 boxes full of the crap...........

I forget the amperage now. Enough to kill it in the winter after a few days. No problems yet this summer. My experience. I'll have to try out the settings and test when I have some time.

Cool. I was asking for ideas and comments. I see you're manual like me, I got the basic model since we don't have tranny temps. Which one did you get? I also got the windshield mount and place it in the lower left of the driver side....not sure I like it there. I was thinking some of that heavy duty 3M velcro tape and taping it to the lower part of the dash (right above the hand brake) for a more stealth look.

    Too few to list.
This is where I mounted my MX. It blocks the view to the mileage but I don't pay attention to that anyway.

There's a 90 page thread on mounting locations. I started this thread to be all encompassing - hence the thread title "All Things UltraGauge", but thank you for the opportunity to clarify.

Right on. I got the Plus because I really need the O2 sensor readings. I put on an aftermarket header and had my exhaust replaced. I haven't yet attached the rear sensor because I don't have a stud mount for it (had to hacksaw a stud off the original one and the remaining stud is wayyy too rusted). So, I'm looking at aftermarket replacement options for my sensor.

Also, the performance numbers appealed to me!

As for mounting, I got the vertical mount and was thinking of putting it below the ashtray. I would prefer to have it above the clock or somewhere more visible but am concerned about the possibility of theft. I think I will likely unplug it and hide it somewhere when I leave my truck parked.. that way I can go with a more visible mounting location. I buggered my fuel sensor by smashing my tank on a rock so I really need the ultragauge for estimating how much fuel is left in the tank!

I expected it would block more in this location.. perhaps I should have got the horizontal mount after all:confused:

Heres where i have mine. No specific mounting, i just bought a velcro sticky and put it on the clip itself and dash. Not in the way, and easily visible with a quick glance. Adjusting the vent is still possible, but i dont ever touch mine since i set it where i like.

I'm not sure about the horizontal mount as I am using a custom mount.
Here's another shot from my 2011.

I tried that location, but it appears it blocks the all-critical oil pressure light.

I'd like mine to sit about here, mine is a 1st gen though so it will take slightly different placement to make it work.

That looks good, you're the one that posted the pic of the 3rd party mount I assume..

Finally got mine to my liking (for now) still need to calibrate distance and fuel setting in the future. I like this spot on the window, I don't use my visor much since I have the tint strip. Used horizontal mount and ran the cord through the a pillar then dash, only cable visable is the part in the picture. I have two pages set to switch 40 and 25, with a refresh rate at .5, so far I love it set this way.

I put mine on my instrument dash as well. Keeps my warning lights open and can still read all my gauges.

Currently I am running power mode 2. Seeing UG recommends 1 I will change. However is anyone NOT having the gauge power up when in the run mode (vehicle not running). That is only powering up when veh is running.

Reason I ask in fuel calibration it says not to have vehicle running.

I think it is blocking more than just the mileage, like the oil pressure light. Would sure hate to have that light come on without me noticing, and kill the engine.

Not sure on the differences in power modes, but I believe it will stay on if you cut your truck off while it is in the menu mode.

Switched to power up mode 1. Now it powers up when I am in the run position as opposed to only with vehicle running. Not sure why I need to power up this way,but I reckon the manuf/instructions state to perform the fuel calibration this way for a reason.:notsure:
