Considering getting 265/75-16 duratracs, what life mileage is expected from these? assuming proper inflation and rotation schedule.
I'm currently on BFG AT KO's and they're OK, but not great in wet weather and mud (Both of which are plentiful in south Ms especially going into fall and winter).

Looking at the cooper ST/maxx but could use other suggestions.
    Requirements:
    1. 45-50K tread life
    2. good wet road handling
    3. ability to handle mud
It's a plus if they are offered in Load range C or D instead of just E.

Looking for 265/75 or 255/85 sizes.

I'm less than 1500 miles in on a set at this point, so I can't tell you much about how long they'll last, but I CAN tell you this. These tires are difficult to balance. And it's vital they are balanced. Mine were fine the day I had 'em put on, then 3 days later, they'd shake you out of the seat. Rebalanced at 1000 miles. MUCH better. They seem to be holding in balance now. A decent mud tire.....Run 'em low on pressure (30psi) and the ride is better but you'll wear out a gas gauge. 35 seems to peak on gas mileage. I run mine at 34 psi. Nice even contact patch at that pressure.

Maybe the tires had a bad reaction to their owner...! ;)

I've heard all the stories about sidewall failures, balancing issues, etc.... And I've heard several folks who were very satisfied with Duratracs after a ton of miles. Guess I'll see in a few thousand miles.....All I know so far is they work real well for my current needs.

    Thanks for the info

What problems did you have with them?

Nittos are awesome if you look at different ones. I have the Trail Grapplers and they looks awesome and ride pretty damn smooth. Some noise but not bad at all. Definately will get the same next go around.

    I run a 265/70/17. They're pretty awesome.

Noise? Duratracs? Really.....I'm finding mine to be about as quiet as a tire even half way capable in mud could possibly be....I have to make an effort to hear ANYTHING, even with windows open.

The Duratracs are very good tires for off-roading and blizzards. But they are not the good on the road. Very noisy and always had a slight vibration on the road but they are not meant to be commuting tires. When I had them on my 3.4 they sucked the life right out of the motor so my mpg's dropped significantly. About a 2 mpg drop but I live in hilly terrain so the automatic was always searching for a gear. The terra grapplers are much lighter and has much less rolling resistance. However they are not as good off-road but do well in snow and rain. If it's a DD pay attention to the weight and stay with a passenger tire unless your not concerned about your mpg's.
