What kind of tire shine do you guys use or recommend using? Or do you recommend using tire shine at all? I've heard a couple people say that using tire shine on a regular basis will cause your tires to dry rot. Not sure whether or not it's true I'm just looking for some information.

I use the Meguires hot shine. It's supposed to prevent drying. It says high gloss, but it's not if you wipe it all off. I just spray lightly so as not to get any on the side of the truck. And I wipe it around with a towel until it's basically all removed. Sometimes I'll spray it right on the towel and then just wipe the tires down. I don't like shiny, greasy looking tires. So, I was hesitant to use it. But I went for it and I really like it. It doesn't look like I've applied any product at all. It simply looks like a new tire.

^If you like it shiny, just don't wipe as much off.

303 aerospace protectant, not shiny but works for me. I also just bought a Carrand tire brush as recommended from tw member and really like it.

I'm not a fan of shiny tires either but a couple of weeks ago I tried that Meguiar's hot shine spray and it looked surprisingly nice when I was done. First time I've ever used a tire product. A little bit of spritz got onto the black rims but I just wiped it off as best I could. In the future I might just cut out a cardboard circle to fit my rim and use that to stop any overspray.

I use 303 on the interior plastics so maybe I'll try it on the tires next time and see how it turns out.

Same here- I use 303 on the interior, door seals, and bed rails. I'll give it a try on the tires. Speaking of 303- anyone know the difference between "regular" 303 and 303 "automotive protectant". Didn't even realize it when I bought it, but mine says automotive on it. There is also just the regular aerospace 393 protectant. Different products?

Meguires hot shine isn't bad. I use it regularly. Just give a short time to dry.
Adams vrt is more matte but not locally available and more pricey.
    Aerospace 303 gives good results.

I apply the product to and applicator and rub onto tires.
None of the above mentioned products make a mess on the truck even after rain.

The crap they goop on at random car washes is a different story. My truck has never and will never go thru a car wash

Meguires, I only put it on every 3-4 washes, seems to help them wash back to a dark rich black. I don't like em shiny so I wipe all the excess off after application.
