I'm curious if anyone has any experience with cerakote coatings and if they think it will hold up well on a coilover?

I have had guns CeraKote-ed and it's great stuff. Never even thought of it on suspension parts...I'm interested in what you find out.

I'm working with a painter in Mobile, AL. His suggestion is to powder coat the spring because they will hold up better. He's worried about ceracoat because it lacks a UV protectant. He is going to call the manufacture tomorrow to discuss with them a solution. He thinks it's a decent idea. Otherwise, I'm going to have to find someone that does CAD plating for my needs.

I'm wondering if the baking process for the powder coating or the cerakote will effect the spring.
What process does the factory use to coat theirs?

Cerakote has the ability to be "baked" or air dry. Springs are powder coated from the factory. Shock bodies have a cadmium plating finish.

Cerakote is suppose to be flexible, but I think powder coating is the way to go with the springs. I have eibach springs and they rusted terribly.
