I wouldn't bother. As long as you religiously pop your drain valve to blow out the damp air and condensation when you get home every time it'll last longer than your truck.
And on the other hand, even the cheapo harbor freight tank that my father in law has been using for the past 7 or 8 years had NEVER been drained! Can't blame him for not knowing, but when I popped it open after using it I blew a gallon or so of rusty sludge out. Not saying I trust his tank anymore, but you'll be fine with the relatively light duty yours will see.

I used a similar tank for about 8 years on my OBA setup, and never got a drop of anything out of that drain plug.

Either you're in az or somewhere with zero humidity, (then awesome!)
Or, like the tank that had never been drained I had, shards of rust settled over the hole in the tank. I opened it and nothing at all came out even at 100 psi. Shook the hell out of it and it projectile vomited rusty shit everywhere. If you open em under 0 psi, that's often the case. Gotta be fully pressurized when you open it.

I just had to replace a bunch of the cheap hoses that I installed for the OBA. I also removed the wheel well quick disconnects since I hardly used them and I could just use a short extension. I am also remaking/upgrading the gauge/regulator panel in the bed.

The hose that I used was a bit more expensive (mostly because of the barb fittings) but it is rated at 300psi and the barbs bite so hard that you don't need to use hose clamps. I wrapped the hose in a protective casing to protect it as well.

I've read this whole thread, all 26 pages. I have one question. What's the fastest +12v pump money can buy?

All I'm doing is airing up 33" tires, and I don't care how much it costs, just want the fastest pump.

It looks like the ARB dual and the Zenith were pretty close on CFM, with the ARB taking a slight lead...

Those systems are designed for air bags. They'll air up tires in a hurry

According to the specs the arb should be faster. The viair puts out 3.53 cfm at zero psi, and the arb 3cfm at 90 psi. Hell the smittybilt i've been using claims 5.65. It comes down to personal choice and where you plan to mount the compressor, and whether or not youre going to install a tank.

Thanks. No tank. Just want speed and performance. In this thread there are two members who are using belt driven compressors and that is awesome! But that's outta the equation for me as I'm unwilling to modify engine apparatus from stock.

    I also looked at Oasis, impressive! Their bottom range compressor is 62lbs. $1,500, but OMG it's a monster! 15CFM at 0PSI, 9CFM @ 50PSI, 8CFM @ 100 PSI! Wow!

    That's in another class altogether...

I do NOT recommend this. The 300 psi rating is at 80 degrees, and drops drastically above that. These little compressors can get very warm, and the air coming out can easily be 130 degrees. Iirc that lowers the rating to under 100 psi,and when pvc blow under pressure it becomes shrapnel.

I need to find the hot setup to upgrade my ride rite air bag setup on the rear axle. I think the bags and brackets are fine for my application, and the rubing seems fine, but i am ditching the press fit connectors.

While i have it apart should i upgrade the tubing to proper hose anyway?

Is there a reliable wireless system i could run from my smartphone rather than run air lines in and out of the cab for in cab controls? Android\ galaxy 5 if it matters.

Operating range -50dF to +80dF with 10 to 30psi typical.

    Thanks.

Seeing that it get -50 where you are at I would keep them
In the cab. I would have recommended some air valves 1/2 that would open and close when voltage is applied like we use in the mini trucking world but with it getting that cold I have had mine freeze open and close when it got In The 20's.remember one to put air in and one to release. Both on a T fitting if you go that route. Here is a link for a wireless control but I don't know of any for a phone.
