First time owning a vehicle with an automatic transmission (and probably the last) on a 2007 Tacoma Pre-Runner 2WD; 120,000 miles, no tow package. Living in southern California and will be towing a 17 foot Casita travel trailer through the desert to Colorado every spring.

I know I need to add an external AT cooler before towing and don’t want the dreaded “pink milkshake”, so I’m leaning toward a stand-alone Tru-Cool Max AT cooler. What size should I get. Anyone have good results with stand-alone (disconnect AT radiator cooler) Tru-Cool Max units and what size do you have? Install pics would be great as well. Lots of info for Gen1 tacos, but not much for Gen2’s.

Many thanks to GearCruncher , ForTech, MountainLion, Maverick491, and others on this site!!

Get the largest cooler you can fit, I would look at B&M's lineup personally.
