Hello Tacoma World.

I'm new to this site and already have a question. I recently purchased my 2013 Tacoma Limited and like it but for one issue; I'm having to run 91 octane to avoid knocking/pinging especially while using the air conditioner. Is this normal? My little 4 cylinder Hyundai never had this problem. Anyone out there experience this annoying problem?

 

Welcome! Have you tried 87 octane from a Shell or Chevron station? dont know that I trust some of these generic gas stations.

 

I'm using Chevron 91 octane. That's the highest they sell here.

Unless your supercharged, it should run fine on 87.

91 is good, cost a little more but you'll get better gas mileage.
