What the heck is a bump???

Ok I'm a pretty new member and While reading through a lot of threads I see a lot of members writing the word bump from time to time. Not sure what this means. Can someone please explain this to me?

 

It puts the thread on the front page. Allows exposure to help get the word out or sell something, for example.

Subscribed, meaning they are following/watching the thread

It means to subscribe to a post. "In the old days" you had to subscribe to keep up with the topic. The new site just has alerts now, so you don't really have to "sub" any longer.

Yeah, pretty much. It will directly notify you. Were as the "alerts" don't do that really.

If you want to be notified when there is a new post in a particular thread click on the Watch Thread (top right on the page).
